Change
It’s rare for anyone to use up an entire eraser; we often lose them and buy a new one. We’ve named this eraser "200 yen," but it’s priced at 300 yen, with a 100-yen coin embedded inside that moves freely.
The 100-yen coin serves as the "change," handed over along with the eraser. As the eraser wears down, the 100-yen coin provides a symbolic return, like a reminder of the passage of time.
This design uses a humorous approach to reflect the companionship and eventual separation between people and their stationery. The subtle movement of the coin during use triggers the desire to hold on to the eraser a little longer, evoking a playful connection with both the eraser and the concept of change.
