A Quarter
The first 15 minutes of an hour and the last 15 minutes often feel different. There’s a sense that the last 15 minutes of every hour pass by faster than the first 15 minutes.
To convey this fleeting feeling, the designer has added a rounded cut at the top-left corner of the clock face. As the clock hands pass through the last 15 minutes, they seem to move closer to the edge of the clock, creating a sense of pressure, making the hands appear to move faster. This design, through the visual compression of space, captures the sensation of time slipping away quickly.
